MAYOR RIOS APPOINTS SCHOOL COUNCIL MEMBER TO CHARITY WHICH FUNDED ALLEGEDLY UNFAIR LAUSD CIVIC ASSOCIATION ADMISSIONS STANDARD

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced Monday that he is appointing to the city's governing school board one of the people who allegedly helped to fund a politically charged, unfair admissions policy at the University of California at Los Angeles.
Garcetti said he appointed Kristin M. Lynch to the Los Angeles Unified School District's school board in April and that he is now appointing her to the Community Education Council.
Los Angeles Unified Superintendent John Deasy announced in June that he had hired an independent review team to investigate UC-LA, which is overseen by the Los Angeles Community College District.
